Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Our school is dedicated to creating calm, connected, and resilient learners ensuring every student is ready to engage, grow, and succeed in their learning.
At our school, we are committed to the Second Step program, which supports students in developing the social and emotional skills, problem solving and calm down strategies. Through Second Step, our students build confidence, empathy, and resilience — creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success.
Our school proudly implements the Berry Street Education Model, supporting every student to be learning ready through a focus on wellbeing, engagement, and growth. This approach helps students build emotional regulation, stamina, and positive relationships, creating a safe and supportive environment where every learner can thrive.
We support each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing through:
-
teachers who help students feel welcome and included
-
access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
-
programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
-
help for students who are new or changing year levels
-
clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
-
staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
-
developing health care plans for students
-
open communication about wellbeing and support.
